A majority of tech problems encountered by students on e-learning modules and quizzes are linked ot the fact that they are viewing them in their HTML5 version and not in their Flash version.

Background: Originally, all the main e-learning authoring software were publishing e-learning content in the Flash format. Today, a growing number of smart phone and tablets do not allow Flash to play natively. Web browsers also tend to block Flash content by default.

As a way to cope with this issue, e-learning authoring software now allow the modules to add an HTML5 version to its Flash version when publishing. Unfortunately, at this stage, the HTML5 version is not as stable as the Flash version of the modules/quizzes and contains small bugs that can make the experience much less enjoyable.

Note that when launching an e-learning module or quiz, the system will check whether Flash Player is installed and enabled. If so, the Flash version will launch. If Flash Player is not installed or not enabled in your browser, it will automatically launch the module in its (less stable) HTML5 version.

Solution: We recommend that you take the necessary steps to ensure you are playing the Flash version of the modules and quizzes. To do so, follow the steps below.

    PC & Mac users:

First, make sure you have Adobe Flash Player installed and enabled on your browser by using this page: http://isflashinstalled.com/

If not installed or enabled, please install adobe Flash Player from here: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

You may then need to enable Flash Player in your browser settings. Please follow instructions provided on step 4 of this page: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html

    Tablet & Smart Phone Users:

Today, most of these devices do not allow to install Adobe Flash Player.

As a work-around, please install and use an alternate browser able to play Flash "remotely".

    - Apple users: prefer "Photon" web browser (free version) and hit the "Flash" icon before opening a module/quiz
    - Android users: prefer "Puffin" web browser

Note: Webinar recordings are published and posted on your online course in mp4 format which should be natively accepted/played by all browsers and devices.
