Hi Franck, Thank you for getting in touch. I completed my FWS in 2018 with Highest honors and currently a DipWset student in London but I live in Paris. I would be happy to join for future tastings. My priority though for the coming week or two are Italian wines, difficult to find in Paris by the way. Any ideas would be welcome.

Currently enrolled for un in FWS, IWS, SWS, and Loire Masters level. Happy to join a tasting if I'm around. And yes, I did go to Eataly in the Marais, and blind tasted some of the wines in the oenomatic a few times to get used to them. I found the IWC training to be the best for Italy. see  http://www.rodrigosepulveda.com/wine

Hello, my name is Franck, nice to meet you! I'm planning to register to next session of FWS (July 2020), I'm now WSET Level 3. We are having a tasting group in Paris (around 20 people) and we organise tastings mainly in wine shops, sometimes educator-led tasting session. The method we use is WSET 3 related, but would fit to WSG study too. Our group focus more on French wines, so perfect for FWS. Anyway, we are planning French white wine session tomorrow (Tuesday, Feb. 25th) at "Et si Bacchus était une femme" wine shop (Paris 5ème) from 11am to 1pm (matinée tasting session). The owner Elodie is very knowledgeable, she studied at Suze La Rousse Université du vin. Next one will be at the same place / same time but Tuesday March 3rd, with focus on French red wines. Following session around March 24-25-26 (not decided yet) will be a WSET educator-led tasting. I'll try to create events here, but you can also contact me directly by email at franck.stofer@gmail.com, I'm also on LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram under my name. Cheers! Franck

Your invitation to join the tasting group sounds cool & interesting. I.ve been looking forward to meet & hang out with down to earth wine pros that love sharing and talking about wine. I just obtained my Champagne Master Level with the highest honors and currently embarked in the French Wine Scholar. I believe this is a good introduction of myself  https://www.winescholarguild.org/top-exam-scorers/champagne/andres-medrano.html

I am flying back to Paris tonight from South Africa. I will be available to join any tasting in Paris or Champagne (I am heading there for the printemps de champagne 2020 - inscriptions are opened, highly recommended)

        You can contact me at andresamedranob@gmail.com or whatsapp 07 81 18 60 06

I'm also WSET Level 3 and planning to register in July for FWS. I send you an email for our coming session. It's great if you can be there tomorrow for our French wine session. Talk soon. Franck

Irina Vinogradova, next tasting (tomorrow Tuesday Feb., 25th from 11am to 1pm) is 5 French white wines quite representative from there region, pretty pedagogical, not too tricky. Next one (Tuesday Mar. 3rd from 11am to 1pm), same concept but with French red wines. For now we gather at caviste/wineshops, they make the selection and we pay for the bottles. Usually, we try to go between 25 to 30 € per person for 5 to 6 wines. I like the idea of going more thematic and each participant bringing his/her own bottle, but we would need a neutral place to do so.

      Hello All,

Together with some champagne lovers based in Paris, we are organising a BYOB champagne dinner on Monday, the 10th of February and we still have some places left.
It’s a set menu dinner (40€ for entrée, plat, fromage, dessert) and no corkage fee for our bottles since the restaurant is managed by a friend of one of the participants. As it’s the first time we’ll meet, the idea is to get to know one another and maybe create group to continue champagne tastings together. The dinner is reserved for people speaking French, I’m afraid, as everyone else in the group apart from me is French and some of them will feel more at ease in their native language at our 1st meeting... but the group is open to other events in English in the future.

If you’d like to join us at this champagne dinner, please let me know.

      Cheers,
      M.

Happy New Year 2020 (vingt vins) to all of you!

This group is only alive if the members are interested it keeping it going; please feel free to post or to propose any relevant events to make the group active again.

As for my ideas for 2020, I recently met Franck, also a member of this group, who organises tasting & learning events in Paris and I thought we could merge our efforts; after all WSG is also about wine education. Franck’s tastings follow WSET SAT guide & if you are interested in joining one of those, please let us know here. We will also post the next date once it’s known.
I also had an idea about a Tour de France themed tastings: meeting to review our knowledge about a selected French appellation /region. Would that interest any of the French Wine Scholar or French Master Level students or prospective candidates?

        Cheers,
        M.
