Tuesday May 11 2021

Summary:

Grandes Pagos de Espana was founded in 2004 with only 12 member wineries and a mission to defend the unique personality of single-estate wines and make them known to the world. Today, the organization has grown to a select group of 35 wineries with representation on both mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands. All producers are committed to producing wines which reflect the harmony of soil, nature, and climate in their respective vineyards.

We invite you to join our Spanish Programs Director, Rick Fisher, for an introduction and deeper dive into the organization. In addition to learning more about the organization they will discuss numerous topics important to wine consumers today (including organic and biodynamic viticulture). He will be joined by Beatriz Hernandez, Manager of Grandes Pagos de Espana, and three winemaking families: Xavier and Leo Gramona (father/son) from Penedes (Catalunya), Araceli and Javier Ribas (sister/brother) from Mallorca (Balearic Islands), and Maria del Yerro and Miguel Alonso (mother/son) from Ribera del Duero (Castilla y Leon).
