Congratulations to Chelsea Li Mei-Yip, FWS, for passing the French Wine Scholar exam with highest honors!

About Chelsea:

I am a wine enthusiast who works in the Finance industry. My passion towards wine started a few years ago when I spent 4 years studying business school in the south of France. I was amused about how almost every French that I came across knew at least a few things about wines; it seemed so natural and instinctive for them to discuss the quality and style of the wines that they drank. This got me curious to understand more about the wine topics; which led me to enroll in the WSET 1 in 2015, which also marked the start of my wine journey.

I am holding the WSET 3 (Distinction), and am currently pursuing the WSET diploma exam. I find the FWS program extremely helpful in my wine studies; it provides a very structured approach in helping me understand the French regions. It tells you what you must know and typical for every region, from the history to the grape varieties to the soil types and to the AOCs. As I am going through the WSET diploma syllabus, I find myself referring back to the FWS book regularly to make sure I have all the necessary knowledge covered.
I am enrolling in the IWS program this year, and will enroll in the SWS program once it is available in Hong Kong.

I am glad that I have done the FWS program together with my WSET diploma education, as it helps me feel more confident with my knowledge towards French wines. I look forward to taking the IWS and SWS programs, and maybe many more new programs offered by WSG in the future!
